A new folktale series will introduce young children to stories from around the world.

CBeebies’ Happy Tent Tales will air 20 episodes on BBC iPlayer. The series uses traditional storytelling to explore themes of nature, kindness, friendship and courage using a combination of movement, music and rhyme.

The tales are written in rhyming couplets and all end with a question or thought triggered by events in the story.

The series features a range of tales from India, Europe, China, South American and Africa.

Producer and director Jessica Symons, from Ivy House Productions, said, ‘Happy Tent Tales has been produced to delight and enchant children through a unique blend of music, movement and rhyme. Children, parents and caregivers are bound to adore [presenter] Karina O’Malley.’
