Pupils at Acre Hall Primary School in Flixton, Greater Manchester have been celebrating 70 years of the NHS by producing artworks to donate to the Children’s and Adolescent Ward at Trafford General Hospital.
The work will be presented to the hospital on 5 July, the NHS’s anniversary.
The children’s art has been inspired by artist Friedrich Hundertwasser, who was born two days before the original hospital building was founded in 1928.
The Year 5 children’s pieces were produced using mixed media including wood, metal, acrylics, pencils and hand-dyed paper.
Ashlea White, head of school at Acre Hall Primary, said, ‘We are very proud of the beautiful work produced by the children and are looking forward to seeing the pieces on display and being enjoyed by visitors and patients at the hospital.’
