Hundreds of intergenerational events and activities have brought people of all ages together in the first #AllAgesAugust.

The month-long celebration, run by social enterprise United for All Ages, encouraged individuals and organisations across the UK to hold intergenerational events in order to tackle loneliness and isolation.

Festivals, carnivals, sports days, art sessions, playdays and holidays were shared on Twitter.

Louise Gouldon, founder of The Together Project, said, ‘Teddy came to Songs & Smiles with his little brother and his mum during the school holidays and brought his wonderful collection of toy cars to show the residents, which they were delighted by.’

Families in Norwich brought their children to visit residents at Laurel Lodge care home to paint bird boxes together as part of events run by Friend in Deed.

The photo below was taken at Heathcote Care home in Norwich, part of Black Swan Care group, during a weekly "little visitor" session that take place on Mondays.

Kelly Lindsay, director of Friend in Deed, said, 'The little visitor and her older friend were busy making slime together! They have been friends for almost two years now and the little one visits the home weekly. This resident and the little visitor clicked immediately and love spending time together.'
