Noticeboard: Christmas round-up

Community
Nurseries and pre-schools around the country have been celebrating the festive season and doing good deeds.

Nativity Stars

Pre-school children from Bright Horizons Saffron Walden Nursery in Essex performed a special Christmas nativity play to the delight of parents and grandparents. The children, including four little stars, warmed up by singing their favourite festive songs.

Hats For Hugo

hats-for-hugoStaff and children from kidsunlimited Epping all donated and wore hats in order to support Hugo, a little boy who used to attend the nursery and was diagnosed with leukaemia in July. Not to be left out, Hugo decided to model his own selection of hats too, which his mum uploaded to Facebook, including this Santa hat.

Bright Horizons food bank help

When staff from Bright Horizons’ office in Summerfields Village in Wilmslow heard that there are local families in an urgent need of food supplies, they decided to act quickly.

A food collection (of tins, biscuits, Christmas pudding and even Christmas crackers ) has been arranged for Food Friends based at St Bartholomew’s Church in Wilmslow, providing support for individuals and families in the SK9 area who have found themselves unable to put food on their table.

'The project currently helps nearly 160 local families and individuals,' said Flow Knowles, the Food Friends Project Manager. 'The number is growing, especially at this time of the year, so donations like this are invaluable for our work to continue.'
