Ofqual is consulting on the conditions and guidance that should be attached to functional skills qualifications in English and maths.
Reformed functional skills qualifications will be introduced from September 2019.
In September 2017 Ofqual consulted on how to regulate them, and has now confirmed its approach: it wants to make these qualifications more comparable, regardless of which awarding body offers them, and to ensure there is greater control of standards.
This consultation seeks views on the detail of conditions, requirements and guidance attached to these new qualifications.
