Vanessa George to be freed from prison

Nursery paedophile Vanessa George is to be released from prison after a parole board decided she no longer represents a ‘significant risk’ to the public.

Ms George was jailed in 2009 for sexually assaulting young children at Little Ted’s, the Plymouth nursery where she worked, and photographing the abuse. She was jailed for an indeterminate period and received a minimum sentence of seven years.

The former nursery worker was previously refused parole in May 2017 after serving her minimum sentence.

Following a review earlier this month, the parole board has now said Ms George should be released. The Ministry of Justice will manage her release from prison.

Ms George was part of a paedophile ring and admitted a total of seven sexual assaults of young children and six counts of distributing and making indecent pictures of children.
