The trust is a non-profit organisation that works in the education and early years sectors, with a mission to help develop social enterprises through grants and professional support from its community of corporate partners.

The trust says that the Spring Budget, coupled with the Chancellor's childcare reforms, are likely to put even greater pressure on the sector. Hiring and retaining staff is already a big challenge and this problem, along with other concerns in the sector, are not going away any time soon, it adds.

In light of this, the trust is carrying out a national survey.

The survey aims to gauge the current and future training and development requirements in UK nurseries in order to attract and retain talent.

It also aims to gather information that will help the sector to continue delivering high quality early years teaching during these difficult times.

June O'Sullivan, CEO of London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) said, ‘If we, as a sector, are to continue doing what we do best and that's delivering high quality teaching and Early Years education, then we need to understand exactly what will be most beneficial to practitioners.

As a charitable social enterprise, LEYF has been a close supporter of Social Business Trust for many years and is helping them to maximise participation in this survey in order to gather as much valuable insight as possible to help those working across all UK nurseries.

  • The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete and the closing date is 8 May. Access the survey here for a chance of winning a £200 prize draw reward.
