The Elmscot Group has acquired its fourth nursery in Greater Manchester.

The group, which operates nurseries, nursery schools and out-of-school clubs across the Manchester area, has purchased Broussa Nursery School in Hale. From next month when it re-opens, it will be known as Broussa Day Nursery and Nursery School.

It is the Elmscot Group’s fourth nursery. The group’s other settings are Elmscot Day Nursery and Woodlands Day Nursery, both in Timperley, and Hale Day Nursery. It also runs eight out-of-school clubs in primary and preparatory schools. All the settings are rated good or outstanding.

With the new nursery, the group provides childcare to more than 1,400 children and employs more than 168 staff.

The Elmscot Group was established in 2001 by directors Stephanie Molnar, a biologist, and accountant Dee Cross, who were struggling to find a high-quality nursery for their children.

The nursery group and its employees have been shortlisted for three Nursery World awards this year: Nursery Food, Early Years professional and Nursery Practitioner of the Year.

Stephanie Molnar said, ‘We are naturally delighted to welcome Broussa families to the Elmscot Group. We share an ethos of exceptional education provision and a commitment to supporting families with outstanding childcare. We intend to build on Broussa’s long educational history and invest in its future.’

Dee Cross added, ‘The teams at Broussa, Elmscot, Hale, Woodlands and School’s Out work very hard to meet the needs of parents and lead the way in best practice, working closely with educational and childcare experts to develop and implement new strategies.

‘Consequently places at Elmscot Group nurseries have always been very much in demand and the acquisition of Broussa will ease the pressure on our current waiting lists, improving flexibility for parents and offering exciting career opportunities for early years practitioners.’
