Out now, ‘My Skin, Your Skin’ aims to support parents, teachers and carers to explain and answer questions about racism, why it is wrong and what children can do if they see or experience it.

It is hoped the book will inspire children aged four plus to be the best versions of themselves and celebrate their uniqueness.

Illustrated by Onyinye Iwu, ‘My Skin, Your Skin’ contains explanations of keywords and concepts written in child-friendly, accessible language, with relatable examples to help young children navigate the world around them.

Ms Henry-Allain said, ‘I have wanted to write a book like My Skin, Your Skin for a while and it’s such an honour to now see it in print. The themes within it are very close to my heart and I hope that it will go some way to helping to create a more tolerant and equitable world for the next generation.’

An early years consultant and trainer, Ms Henry-Allain is also the creator of the children’s books JoJo and Gran Gran, which have been turned into a CBeebies TV series.
