Safehands, which was established in 2004 and is set in an Edwardian building in the Duchy area, sees Just Childcare extend its portfolio to 60 settings and follows the acquisition of 11 other nurseries by the group since the start of 2019.

The newest setting provides places for 70 children and has an outstanding rating from Ofsted. It will be Just Childcare’s fifth setting in the Harrogate area.

The group now provides nearly 4,500 childcare places across its nurseries.

David Johnson, chief executive of Just Childcare, said, ‘2019 has been an exciting year for the group and we are absolutely delighted to welcome Safehands Day Nursery as the 60th nursery to join the Just Childcare group. The nursery has an excellent reputation in the area and is in a great location that compliments the other four settings we have in Harrogate.

‘Over the past 12 months we’ve added significantly to the group and we are hoping to maintain growth throughout 2020 and beyond.

‘We can’t wait to get to know the team at Safehands Day Nursery and work with them to further enhance the success of their setting.’

According to this year's Nursery Chains, Just Childcare is the fourth largest nursery group in the country with 60 settings and 4,480 childcare places.
