Essex nursery group buys first Suffolk setting

Dizzy Ducks has acquired a fifth nursery to add to its growing business.

The nursery group has bought Tiny Toes Childcare in Haverhill, Suffolk, following discussions since June about buying the nursery.

It is the first nursery in Suffolk for Dizzy Ducks, which runs four sites across Essex,

Owner and director Sian Nisbett of Dizzy Ducks, said, ‘The building is brilliant - it’s been designed with the child in mind. For example, it has separate garden areas off every base room, meaning that children can access free-flow at all times.’

She added, ‘Our utmost priority during this transition period is consistency of care to the children. It is our aim to work with the staff as a team and continue this quality of childcare.’

All Tiny Toes staff except the owner have stayed on. However, Dizzy Ducks has increased the fees ‘to what we consider to be more financially viable’, Ms Nisbett said.

The nursery, which opened in 2009, was graded outstanding at its most recent Ofsted inspection in February.

The Haverhill site, which has 100 nursery places, operates a breakfast, after-school and holiday club for children aged six to 14 years. It also supports children who have special educational needs and children who have English as an additional language.

Dizzy Ducks, which has been operating since 2005, has plans underway to open two more sites.
